USAID Expanding its Partnership with Local Governments to Increase Transparency and Citizen Participation in Governance

Within the framework of cooperation and technical support to partner cities and municipalities, the representatives of USAID and the Government Accountability Initiative visited the city of Sombor on 17 July 2019.
In a meeting with Mayor Dusanka Golubovic and Head of City Administration Helen Roksandic Musulin they discussed the ongoing project activities and results achieved in the area of strengthening the capacity of the city for more intense involvement of citizens, increasing transparency through improvement of the city website, as well as in the area of services improvement through the support to establishment of one-stop shop for administrative services and conducting user satisfaction surveys related to city administration services.
The meeting included consultations on the continuation of cooperation between the Government Accountability Project and the city of Sombor on strengthening accountable and transparent local government, within the framework of the Memorandum on Cooperation signed by USAID and the city in November 2018. City leadership and representatives of the Project expressed their satisfaction with the cooperation and the results achieved so far, presenting a sound basis for the continuation of successful cooperation.
