Training on the Implementation of the Public Procurement Law for Bidders

October 14, 2021

USAID Government Accountability Initiative (GAI) and the Serbian Bidders Association organized the first training for implementation of the Public Procurement Law for bidders in public procurement procedures. This one-day online training was held on October 12th, 2021 and marked the beginning of cooperation between GAI and the Serbian Bidders Association in delivering trainings in areas which would be relevant for the members of the Association to attend. The training was attended by 25 participants, representing 14 private companies.

The goal of the training was to enhance capacities of bidders towards more successful, effective, and efficient participation in public procurement procedures, as well as to resolve any uncertainties  that bidders may have in everyday public procurement practices. The training covered some of the following topics: qualitative selection criteria, using of capacities of subcontractors, submission of joint bids, submitting evidence on fulfillment of selection criteria and responsibilities in procurement contract implementation, use of the public procurement portal for bidders – preparation and submission of bids, submitting questions, submission of evidence, initiation of bidder’s rights protection procedure and similar.

GAI and the Bidders Association intend to conduct a survey with training participants to identify additional issues and topics for which bidders are interested in hearing more about. Based on their responses, a program for two additional trainings will be developed, to be implemented in the course of November and December.
