Training on Personal Data Protection for Local Public Enterprises

July 21, 2021

In cooperation with the Commissioner for information of public importance and personal data protection, the USAID Government Accountability Initiative (GAI) organized a training on the implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection for representatives of public enterprises at the local level. The training was held on June 7 and was attended by more than 50 representatives of public enterprises.

The training was delivered by Zlatko Petrović, a representative of the Commissioner’s Office. The purpose of the training was to enable the persons designated for personal data protection and the ones who are yet to be designated, to acquire new and enhance the existing knowledge about the personal data protection right, as well as to learn about the obligations of controllers and processors of personal data, in accordance with the Law.

The Commissioner and the USAID GAI have thus continued the successful cooperation towards better implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection at the local level and expanded the trainings organized for local self-governments during the course of the last year. The training was very well received and evaluated by the participants.
